The Wildfoods Festival

Hokitika doubles in population once a year for the annual Wildfoods Festival. This is a truly unique experience and only two and a half hours from Westport.

Seal Colony

The seal colony is situated at Tauranga Bay 16 kilometres south of Westport. This is a breeding colony of New Zealand Fur Seals. The seals can be easily viewed at the end of an upgraded 10 minute track.

In the beachfront community of Carter's Beach and immediately next to the airport is the Westport Golf Club. Only a 5 minute drive to Westport and an 8 minute drive to Oceanview Okari subdivisions.

Caving and Adventure

Not for the faint hearted. Shoot through underground rivers on an inner tube, or take a quided tour through caves amongst magnificent limestone arches.
